Release verification

Verify a DualGuard software download

Check where a file came from and what Windows says about its signature before you install or run it. This page explains the checks without asking you to change your security settings.

Content reviewed

1. Check the download source

Start from the official DualGuard website or a download route supplied through its authorized activation or support flow. Check the domain before signing in or downloading. Avoid installers reposted by an unknown website or sent by an unexpected message.

2. Match the release details

Compare the file name, product edition and version against the release details supplied with your download. If a SHA-256 checksum is supplied for that exact file, compare it with the file you received. A checksum from an unrelated version is not a valid comparison.

Need the checksum or publisher details for a specific file? Ask support with the file name before installing. A version number shown in an illustration is not a release record.

3. Inspect the digital signature

For a signed Windows installer or executable, open its Properties and look for Digital Signatures. Select the signature and open Details to inspect its validity and publisher information.

Match the publisher details with the information supplied for the exact DualGuard release. If the signature is missing, invalid or unexpected, stop and contact support with the file name and displayed result. Do not run a file merely because its icon or name looks familiar.

4. Understand a security warning

Windows reputation checks and file signatures are separate checks. Microsoft explains that a new signed file can still trigger SmartScreen when its file or publisher reputation is not yet established. See Microsoft’s SmartScreen explanation.

If Windows or your antivirus blocks or quarantines a file, keep the exact alert, detected file name and product version. Contact support before continuing. Do not disable protection or create broad exclusions to make the installation proceed.

5. Send useful verification details

  • File name and where you obtained it.
  • Product edition and version, if visible.
  • The signature result and publisher displayed by Windows.
  • Exact Windows or antivirus alert and when it appeared.
  • A redacted screenshot, without account credentials or codes.

Send these details to DualGuard Support. A successful signature check does not guarantee error-free software or a trading outcome.
